Commercial Litigation
Commercial litigation in Australia is conducted in the Federal Courts and specialized Commercial Lists in the Equity Courts of the States and Territories.
Both the Federal Court and NSW Supreme Court have jurisdiction in almost all commercial disputes involving a Commonwealth law and a State law, including:
- Admiralty
- Bankruptcy (Federal Court)
- Bills of Exchange and Letters of Credit
- Corporations
- Fisheries
- International carriage of goods by air and sea
- Marine Insurance
- Trade Practices
The State Courts also exercise jurisdiction in these and other areas of commercial dispute.
